Texas Fred On Sarah Palin...this just about sums it up

Will She Run? Palin in High-Profile Visit to Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa — Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin is on a roll: Her political endorsements have helped propel upstart Republican contenders to victory in recent primaries, her cable TV show makes its debut in November, and now she’s off to Iowa, a state that has made and broken its share of presidential campaigns.
The 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate will be the big draw at Friday’s Reagan Dinner in Des Moines, the Iowa Republican Party’s biggest fundraiser, and the question that will be on everyone’s mind is whether she’ll run for president in 2012.
Iowa, home to the nation’s leadoff presidential caucuses, can be tough terrain for celebrity candidates. Those who try to ride their fame to victory in Iowa without organizing a grass-roots campaign often find themselves on the outs.
Take John Glenn. The former astronaut and senator drew huge crowds and intense attention here when he sought the Democratic nomination in 1984 — but he got just 4 percent of the vote.

Politics, and the choice of a particular candidate, is as much about opinion and likability as it is facts and ability regarding a particular candidate. Sarah Palin has some good points on her side, but she presents a few less than desirable points as well.
Palin is a STAR right now, of that there is no doubt. She can draw a crowd, she can energize a crowd, she can raise a lot of money and without a doubt, her endorsements of candidates have been GOLD in recent elections.
She drives the LEFT crazy!
Palin talks a lot. She has an endless supply of political feel-good sayings. She’s folksy, she’s good looking and she has lots of fans that fawn over her and every word she utters.
Can anyone recall her ever making a statement of substance? One that left no doubt about her being a person of deep thought and great political acumen?
I see a cheerleader when I see Palin. I see someone that could be an outstanding leader for the RNC, a group that is in severe need of a leader. I see Palin as a good handicapper when it comes to picking candidates, and as I said, her endorsements carry a lot of weight.
I don’t see Palin as presidential material.
If she runs, Palin would start with strong appeal among the social and religious conservatives who play a crucial role in Iowa’s Republican politics. But that appeal wouldn’t necessarily last if it’s not backed up by a strong effort to reach out to caucus voters, said Steve Scheffler, head of the Iowa Christian Alliance.
Strong appeal? Yeah, she has strong appeal, sex appeal and rock star appeal.
She plays on her looks as much as anything. She is a cheer leader, not a WORLD LEADER.
Here is where I will likely stir the anger of Palin fans. Sarah Palin is NOT a Conservative. She is, in MY opinion, a Republican opportunist.
I know I will hear all about her loyalty and dedication, but the fact remains, Palin ran as John McCain’s VP. She embraced the McCain campaign, she still supports McCain, a RINO of the 1st order. Conservatives do NOT give their loyalty to a RINO.
I know too that Palin supports Christine O’Donnell, Rep. Nikki Haley, Karen Handel, Arizona, Israel and offshore drilling. I know she shoots guns. I know she can field dress a moose, but her continued support of John McCain gives me great pause regarding her true political thinking and her willingness to toe the GOP line.
And let’s face this one totally indisputable fact: Sarah Palin QUIT her position as Governor of Alaska.
We watched that drama unfold incessantly on the 24/7 news cycle. We were inundated with all Palin, all the time. We still are. We heard all the excuses regarding WHY Palin walked out on Alaska. Those excuses stink. If she was right she should have stayed and fought the accusations against her.
If she couldn’t take the heat in Alaska, why would anyone in their RIGHT mind even remotely believe that she could take the heat of Washington politics and the world stage?
Her favorable ratings have been slipping all year, in recent weeks dropping below 40 percent for the first time, in the latest Associated Press-Gfk poll. Forty percent now have a very unfavorable rating of Palin. But among Republicans, about two-thirds give her positive marks and one-third view her very favorably.
Sarah Palin plays well in a partisan crowd.
Washington won’t be partisan and her folksy little euphemisms won’t run the nation or impress the jobless!
Use Sarah Palin in the method she is best suited for, a fund raising cheer leader.
Consider her for head of the RNC, a place where I believe she would do an outstanding job, but electing her to the White House would expose her for the not so smart Peter Principled rock star she is.

Agree with you Fred, Palin would do a good job as head of the RNC. With the exception on McCain, would keep the RINOs at bay.

Good analysis Fred…
Will she run? Sarah Palin has been running for president since the day she quit being a governor.
You have summarized just about all that has to be said and that just about sums it up…except for one teeny little bit.
As I am so very, very anti The Law Of The Sea Treaty (LOST) Sarah Palin turned me off when she stated that she was in favor of it. God forbid that thing ever gets ratified we will be marching down Main Street under the UN flag.

Love her or hate her, you gotta admit she has been GOLD for the tea party. She was the face the left loved to bash and she’s came out on top every time. She’s been loyal to the tea party candidates when the established GOP backed RINO’s. (Except that McCain thing. As I said I give her a pass for that one.)
I’m not sure the tea party would be the force it is without her and that’s one hell of a statement.
I am looking to 2012 with a wondering eye once in a while. All I’m focused on right now is the Nov 2nd. The more we make Palin the subject the more we give the liberpukes a target to go after. Palin can take it, but it takes away from the issues we are kicking ass on.
The tea party has went from a fringe group to the most powerful grassroots movement EVER! All we need to do now is, keep pushing the issues. They can’t debate facts and the economy, American values, national security, free markets are the way to victory in 2010.
Palin. Yeah she’s HAWT! Personally I think partying with Palin, Bachman and O’donnel would be a blast! Cept at my age I’d have Palin BBq’ng, Bachman bringing my beer and O’donnel Ironing my shirts…
I am a neanderthal! HA!

90% of my commentary in this post was made with you in mind Rob… I know how you feel about Palin, you know how I feel about Palin and again I say, IF Palin is the answer, it was a stupid question, you betcha by golly ya know it was don’tcha?

I do agree with you on some of your Palin commentary. IF she’s the “One” on the Ticket for 2012, Houston we have a problem.
I’d really like to see her in a role in the senate or House. I’d feel pretty damn confident she would uphold the tea party values to the letter. She’d pretty much have to. She would be a great RNC chair. She’d be great just doing what she’s doing. It would/will be interesting to see how she treats the “R’s” if they take over and go “RINO” on us. If she turns a blind eye she’ll show her true colors. IF she takes the stand we will take, then she will get another check mark in my asset column.

She can get *checks* til hell freezes over, Palin is a lot of things, and I gave her credit where credit was due, but she is NOT presidential material…

Six Muslims Attempt To Kill The Pope

"They are 26, 27, 29, 36, 40 and 50 years old and most are understood to be Algerian."
What are the chances they are all Muslims?  If I were a betting man I'd give 99 to 1 odds that they were all Muslims.  This BBC report at least identifies the country of origin but over there at CBS they go out of their way to downplay the origins of the would be killers,
"Police confirmed that some of the suspects were thought to be from outside Britain but declined to comment on media reports they were of Algerian origin."
It is a known fact that Algeria is 99% Muslim so what's there to hide from?  Tell it like it is because we need to ban Islam as a political system.  Islam is the enemy of western Democracies...they will destroy America and Europe...Wake up people!  Wake up!  ~  Norman E. Hooben
Pope visit: Six men held over papal terror alert
Police outriders escorting the Pope mobile Maximum security: Police outriders escorting the Popemobile
A sixth man has been arrested in London by police in relation to a potential threat to Pope Benedict XVI's visit.
His arrest, at 1345 BST, came after five men were seized at 0545 BST after counter-terrorism officers received intelligence of a potential threat.
All six, who were street cleaners, have been taken to a London police station.
The BBC's Danny Shaw said the arrests were carried out as a precaution. Police are searching a number of premises.
At least five of the men were not British nationals.
The cleaners worked for Veolia Environment Services, a major contract cleaning company that works for Westminster Council.
Armed officers arrested the first five men at the company's Chiltern Street depot, Paddington, as they were preparing to go on shift.
In a statement from Scotland Yard, the Metropolitan Police said that the men had been arrested in a Terrorism Act 2000 operation, launched by officers from the force's Counter-Terrorism Command.
All six men were arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
They are 26, 27, 29, 36, 40 and 50 years old and most are understood to be Algerian. Police are continuing to search eight residential premises in north and east London and two business premises in central London.

Islam must be banned as a political system...in which it is!  It must not be defined as a religion and offered protection under the 1st Amendment.  Islam's goal is to destroy America...not my words, theirs!  Wake up!

PS:  The real bigots in this are Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick who fail to see the clear and present danger Islam is to America.  If either one of them read the Quran they would not be a part of this...that is unless of course they are the enemy within.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies in the heart of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear. The traitor is the plague..." Marcus Tullius Cicero, speech to the Roman Senate.

Boston Mosque Gets Non-Muslim Kids to Join in Muslim Prayers - source Family Security Matters
Americans for Peace and Tolerance has released a video showing 6th graders from Wellesley, MA as they rise from prostrating themselves alongside Muslim men in a prayer to Allah while on a public school field trip to the largest mosque in the Northeast.  Teachers did not intervene. Parents have not been told.
The video was taken inside the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center – Boston’s controversial Saudi-funded mega-mosque – during a Wellesley Middle School social studies trip to the mosque, ostensibly taken to learn about the history of Islam first-hand. Yet the video reveals that the students are being blatantly mis-educated about Islam. A mosque spokesperson is seen teaching the children that in Mohammed’s 7th century Arabia women were allowed to vote, while in America women only gained that right a hundred years ago.
This seems to be an increasingly recurring theme in American schools – the denigration of western civilization and the glorification of Islamic history and values. In fact, just recently, the American Textbook Council revealed that the New York State high school regents exam whitewashes the atrocities that occurred during the imperialistic Islamic conquest of Christian Byzantium, Persia, the African continent, and the Indian subcontinent, even as it demonizes European colonialism in South America.
The mosque spokesperson also taught the students that the only meaning of Jihad in Islam is a personal spiritual struggle, and that Jihad has historically had no relationship with holy war. As far as we know, the school has not corrected these false lessons.
For the past three years we’ve been sounding the alarm about  the radical leadership and Saudi funding of the Boston mega-mosque and the organization that runs it, the Muslim American Society, which has been labeled by Federal prosecutors as “the overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in America.”
The Islamic Society of Boston was founded by Abdulrahman Alamoudi, who is currently serving 23 years in jail on terror charges. For years, its board of trustees included Yusuf al Qaradawi, the spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood who was banned by Bill Clinton from the United States in 1999. Qaradawi now chairs the Muslim American Society’s university, which offers classes inside the mosque.  Over half the mosque’s $15.5 million price tag was funded by wealthy Saudis and since it opened, several of its leaders, donors and members have been implicated in Islamic extremism.
Oussama Ziade, a big donor to the mosque, is now a fugitive in Lebanon after being  indicted in 2009 for dealing in the assets of an Al Qaeda financier.  Ahmad Abousamra, the son of the Boston Muslim American Society’s former vice-president Abdulbadi Abousamra, is now a fugitive in Syria, fleeing the country before being indicted in 2009 on charges of aiding Al Qaeda. One of the mosque’s imams, Abdullah Faaruuq, was captured on tape in 2010 telling followers to “pick up the gun and the sword” and to defend another local terrorist Aafia Siddiqui from the U.S. government. Siddiqui, who was one of the imam’s congregants, is an MIT graduate and Al Qaeda member awaiting sentencing for attempting to murder FBI agents in Afghanistan while shouting “death to America.” (LINK)
The mosque leadership continues to be embraced by top Massachusetts political and religious leaders. These include Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, as well as a group of local progressive rabbis and Christian clergy, who all insist despite evidence to the contrary that the mosque is moderate and its critics are just bigots.
Indeed, this is a familiar refrain by leaders nationwide in response to the increasing public realization that Islamic leaders are not as moderate as they present themselves. Radicalism is growing and many moderate Muslims have been silenced. In various parts of the country, public schools are allowing Muslim extremists to promote Islam to our children. Something’s broken here. Our leadership is failing. It’s now up to ordinary citizens to fix it.

What worries me the most... Is That The Climate Will Not Change

Check out this global warning of not too long ago...

The following excerpted from: AlGoreLied.com

It’s the interaction between people and climate that worries me the most, because with everyone jammed into countries, locked into national boundaries, a change in climate means a redistribution of where the rain is, where the growing seasons are. My worst fear is that the climate could induce a change in some country that could be devastating to their local survivability, and that would lead them to desperate acts that can drag everybody else down.”
Part One:

Part Two:

Part Three (this is the segment featuring global warming alarmist Stephen Schneider):

Now that you know the difference between warning and warming...Did they mention, "Ice Age"?  That's cool!  Well now we have disruption...and that's a warning not a warming!
The following from Pat Dollard

White House: Global Warming Out, “Global Climate Disruption” In    [Note from Norm: What happened to the ice age?]

From the administration that brought you “man-caused disaster” and “overseas contingency operation,” another terminology change is in the pipeline.
The White House wants the public to start using the term “global climate disruption” in place of “global warming” — fearing the latter term oversimplifies the problem and makes it sound less dangerous than it really is.
White House science adviser John Holdren urged people to start using the phrase during a speech last week in Oslo, echoing a plea he made three years earlier. Holdren said global warming is a “dangerous misnomer” for a problem far more complicated than a rise in temperature.  Full post continued here

Islamic world and Muslims will always be perceived as backward - Pervez Musharraf

Before Islam made them stupid, before Islam hobbled their minds, before Islam stifled their creativity, Arabs were inquisitive, smart, inventive, clever fellows who made great contributions to civilization. That is to say, they were just like their Semite cousins the Jews.  ~  Source

Musharraf berates Muslim world
Musharraf wants young Muslims to study in the West

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has said Islamic countries will remain backward unless they concentrate more on scientific and technological development.
Muslim nations are internally involved in fratricidal conflicts and perceived by the outside world as terrorists with little attention being given on their uplift, he said.
Today we are the poorest, the most illiterate, the most backward, the most unhealthy, the most un-enlightened, the most deprived, and the weakest of all the human race
General Musharraf made his comments in an address to a conference of science and technology attended by ministers from Muslim countries. President Musharraf said the time had come for Islamic nations to take part in collective self-criticism.
Once such an assessment is made, it would not be difficult to realise that the entire Islamic world was far behind the developed world, he argued.

'The most unhealthy'
The Muslim Ummah, or the Islamic world, he said was presently living in darkness.
"Today we are the poorest, the most illiterate, the most backward, the most unhealthy, the most un-enlightened, the most deprived, and the weakest of all the human race," he told the delegates.

President Musharraf then made a comparison of the economic growth in Islamic countries with some developed countries.
While the collective Gross National Product of the all Muslim countries stands at $1,200bn, that of Germany alone is $2,500bn and that of Japan $5,500bn.
He said one of the main reasons for this disparity was that none of the Muslim countries had ever paid any attention to educational and scientific development.
He asked the countries participating in the conference to concentrate on scientific and technological development in order to compete with the developed world.
The real jihad
The Pakistani leader suggested the setting up of a multi-billion dollar fund for such a purpose.  Beside this, he said, there was a need for creating centres of excellence in the field of science and technology.  He also called for the creation of scholarships for young scientists to seek knowledge from universities in developed countries.  President Musharraf described it as the real jihad, or holy war.  Unless this was done, the Islamic world and Muslims would always be perceived as backward, illiterate - those who only indulge in extremism and violence.
