Former CBS News president Richard Salant (1961 - 64 and 1966 - 79) explained the major media's role: "Our job is to give people not what they want, but what we decide they ought to have." ...and to this very day most Americans haven't noticed they're being brained washed! ~ N. Hooben
It’s a plan that has already
worked out well at another
South Coast lighthouse,
but there’s no guarantee Butler Flats will have a similar outcome.
“All lighthouses are different
and come with their own Pandora’s Box. Once you’ve opened it, you have no idea
what you got yourself into,” said Nick Korstad, owner of the Borden Flats Lighthouse
in Fall River.
When the federal government passed the National Historic Lighthouse
Preservation Act of 2000 that allows them to be offered for sale to the general
public (after nonprofits get first crack), Korstad fell in love with the idea
of purchasing a lighthouse—despite being just a kid at the time. He purchased
the Borden Flats Lighthouse in 2010 and lovingly restored it into a unique bed
and breakfast.
Korstad is a lighthouse enthusiast and was interested in
the Butler Flats property as well when it first hit the auction block after
being deemed “surplus” by the federal government. Like Borden Flats, it is also
a “sparkplug”-style structure.
“Butler Flats will be a huge challenge,” said Korstad,
who toured Butler Flats with the Government Services Administration in 2012.
“It was in very rough condition and very exposed to Buzzards’ Bay. We toured in
the first week of September and took the Harbor Master Police boat out. We
encountered 10-foot swells and tore the front pontoon off the boat trying to
access the ladder. That’s when I said, ‘No thanks!’”
The new owner seems to have money
behind him if he’s willing to take on the restoration efforts of Butler Flats, which
some estimates put at over $1 million for full restoration. He paid
$80,000 for the lighthouse
in a November 2015 auction.
“To me, passion exceeds money,” Korstad said. “If you
have a drive to accomplish a restoration, the money will come. Butler Flats
will not be expensive to ‘cosmetically’ beautify. The cost will come fixing and
securing the foundations.”
Korstad said the lighthouse is built upon a cast iron
caisson filled with rocks and concrete. The caisson is bolted together and
provides protection to the concrete from ice, waves and the elements.
“Unfortunately, the foundation has a lot of fatigue,” he
said. “This is caused from corrosion, freeze/thaw and a lack of maintenance.
There are places in the foundation where you can fit your hand through, and
others that have band-aided. Once the plates fail, it’s a matter of time before
cracks will form in the concrete and the lighthouse could potentially tip over
if hit with a large enough storm.”

of Butler Flats, check out the work of Frank Grace of Trig Photography here.
“I think that by this point in time we could all agree that when the word 'Leftist' is used in any political narrative that the term is synonymous with 'Democrats'. And in the minds of anyone on the right both terms denote a negative reflection of the discussion; if there is one! Many, if not all, democrats lose sight of rational thought the longer a tête-à-tête or open discussion lingers and they are the most persistent and loudest in the discourse...they never give in to reality "The truth of the matter." quote is never considered...rather the lie is always promoted.”
Yes! I said that.
But what if I said,
“America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within.”
No! That was said by one of the most evil leaders of Communist Russia, Joseph Stalin.
Many of us on the right, especially among those who broadcast their beliefs over this thing called the Internet, have recognized what America’s problems are long before there’s any Congressional investigations or exposé in the main stream media. We recognize it because we are at the bottom of the political class who created the mess we’re in (gives some credence to the expression, ‘low man on the totem pole’). How many times have we heard the politicians say they’re going to fix the problems from the bottom up when just the opposite happens once they’re in office.
The ‘control’ politicians have become used to is not what the Founding Fathers aspired to when they fought for our independence; they wanted a government controlled by ‘we the people’ but somewhere down the road the people we elected into office have forgotten their role in the process…and if I may be sinister about it, that forgetfulness is intentional (Recall the words of former Congressman Barney Frank, “The middle class won’t fight back.”).
When addressing the myriad of problems we have and wonder why our elected officials cannot seem to relate to them…aahh, “It’s a conspiracy theory!” they say. Yet one begins to wonder just how far we have fallen from our pinnacle of freedom when one of our adversaries recognizes the real issues facing us more so than our very own Congress. Non-other than the leader of Russia, Vladimir Putin, has put it in plain words that even the most ignorant congress person should understand… In his speech he is talking about European countries but he may very well be summarizing our own problems…it’s too bad that our political parties cannot see Putin’s ‘writing on the wall’. When you are finished reading you can say, "Vladimir Putin said that!" ~ Norman E. Hooben

“A
further challenge for the national Russian identity is connected to the
processes we observe outside of Russia. They include foreign policy, moral, and
other aspects. We see that many Euro-Atlantic states have taken the way where
they deny or reject their own roots, including their Christian roots which form
the basis of Western civilization.
In these countries, the moral basis and any traditional identity are being
denied - national, religious, cultural, and even gender identities are being
denied or relativized. There, politics treats a family with many children as
juridical equal to a homosexual partnership; faith in God is equal to faith in
Satan. The excesses and exaggerations of political correctness in these
countries indeed lead to a serious consideration for the legitimization of
parties that promote the propaganda of pedophilia.
The people in many European states are actually ashamed of their religious
affiliations and are indeed frightened to speak about them. Christian holidays
and celebrations are abolished or "neutrally" renamed, as if one were
ashamed of those Christian holidays. With this method one hides away the deeper
moral value of those celebrations.
And these countries try to force this model onto other nations, globally. I am
deeply convinced that this is a direct way to the degradation and
primitivization of culture. This leads to deeper demographic and moral crisis
in the West.
What can be better evidence for the moral crisis of human society in the West
than the loss of its reproductive function? And today nearly all
"developed" Western countries cannot survive reproductively, not even
with the help of migrants.
Without the moral values that are rooted in Christianity and other world
religions, without rules and moral values which have formed, and been
developed, over millennia, people will inevitably lose their human dignity and
become brutes. And we think it is right and natural to defend and preserve
these Christian moral values.
One has to respect the right of every minority to self-determination, but at
the same time there cannot and must not be any doubt about the rights of the
majority.
At the same time as this process plays out at a national level in the West, we
observe on an international level the attempts to create a unipolar, unified
model of the world, to relativize and remove institutions of international
rights and national sovereignty. In such a unipolar, unified world there is no
place for sovereign states. Such a world needs merely vassals.
From a historical perspective, such a unipolar world would mean the surrender
of one's own identity and of God-created diversity.”

No wonder they hate and fear him so. He is a true nationalist who is not
afraid to stand up in defense of both Christianity and the West... and he has
nukes. For those casting about for the true leader of the Alt-Right, there is a
strong candidate.
The west is a creation of Christianity and without that force is doomed to
fail. For all its imperfections western European civilization combined with
English limited government is the very best humanity has created to date. It
should be celebrated, not denigrated.
It takes a KGB national leader to say this, while all the western leaders are
mute. I truly find it hard to trust the Russian bear, but speaking the truth is
a start. I hope he and Trump can come to a true rapprochement.
FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe instructed agents at the bureau to lie to the public and Congress about the Benghazi attack, in order to protect his pal Hillary Clinton. Rep. Ron Desantis (R-FL) claims that he recently interviewed a retired FBI supervisor who revealed to him that McCabe instructed him not to refer to the 2012 attack as an act of terrorism when distributing the FBI’s findings to the larger intelligence community – despite knowing that terrorists were responsible for the attack.
The agent found the instruction concerning because his unit had gathered incontrovertible evidence showing a major al Qaeda figure had directed the attack and the information had already been briefed to President Obama, the lawmaker said. -The Hill
Zerohedge.com reports: After the September 11, 2012 attack against U.S. government facilities in Benghazi, Libya, the Obama administration peddled a lie, telling the public that the attack was related to Muslims who had become enraged at an anti-Islam YouTube video, and not a planned act of terrorism – despite Hillary Clinton emailing Chelsea Clinton from her unsecure @clintonemail.com server the night of the attack to say exactly that.
Chelsea – using the pseudonym “Diane Reynolds” probably didn’t have the clearance to receive classified intelligence from her mother, the Secretary of State.
“Two of our officers were killed in Benghazi by an Al Queda-like group: The Ambassador, whom I handpicked and a young communications officer on temporary duty w a wife and two young children. Very hard day and I fear more of the same tomorrow.” -Hillary Clinton to Chelsea Clinton
And we now know FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe lied for the Obama administration in a clear, partisan violation of the FBI’s mandate to “detect and prosecute crimes against the United States,” not “lie for the President so as not to offend Islam.” As Rep. DeSantis told The Hill:
“What operational reason would there be to issue an edict to agents telling them, in the face of virtually conclusive evidence to the contrary, not to categorize the Benghazi attack as a result of terrorism? By placing the interests of the Obama administration over the public’s interests, the order is yet another data point highlighting the politicization of the FBI.”
DeSantis and other GOP lawmakers say they plan to question FBI Director Christopher Wray at a Thursday hearing in front of the House Judiciary Committee about claims of growing concern among certain FBI supervisors over political bias clouding decisions at the highest levels of the agency. The case against the FBI for overt political bias couldn’t be more clear. Over the last week we’ve learned of veteran FBI investigator Peter Strzok’s dismissal for texting his mistress anti-Trump messages, which the DOJ is handing over to the House Intelligence Committee. We also learned yesterday that a second prosecutor on Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel, Andrew Weissmann, praised then-acting Attorney General Sally Yates after she refused to defend President Trump’s travel ban. Fox News reports:
A top prosecutor who is now a deputy for Special Counsel Robert Mueller s Russia probe praised then-acting attorney general Sally Yates after she was fired in January by President Trump for refusing to defend his controversial travel ban.
The email, obtained by Judicial Watch through a federal lawsuit, shows that on the night of Jan. 30, Andrew Weissmann wrote to Yates under the subject line, I am so proud.
He continued, And in awe. Thank you so much. All my deepest respects.
Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton called the new Weissmann document an astonishing and disturbing find.
“The data points we have regarding politicization are damning enough but appear all the more problematic when viewed against the backdrop of investigations whose ferocity seemed to depend on the target: the Clinton case was investigated with an eye towards how to exonerate her and her associates, while the Russia investigation is being conducted using scorched earth tactics that seek to find anything to use against Trump associates,” DeSantis told The Hill. DeSantis also said his FBI source pointed to an incident after Trump’s National Security Advisor Mike Flynn resigned over lying to Vice President Mike Pence over his contacts with Russia’s ambassador. An FBI executive is said to have made an inappropriate comment during a video teleconference indicating that the agency had a personal motive in investigating Flynn and ruining his career. “The wildly divergent ways these investigations have been conducted appear to dovetail with the political bias that has been uncovered,” DeSantis said. In response to the overt political bias at the FBI, the Inspector General’s office (OIG) has launched an investigation into Strzok and other officials connected to both the Clinton email investigation as well as the Trump-Russia investigation. Agent Peter Strzok who was removed for anti-Trump text messages ran both investigations, the latter Trump-Russia having been taking over by Robert Mueller’s probe which he was recently kicked off of. Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, meanwhile, is directly under investigation by the OIG for potentially violating the Hatch Act or engaged in ethical conflicts pertaining to his wife’s run for the Virginia senate in 2015 as a Democrat. She received $700,000 in campaign contributions tied to Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe (D) – an ally of Hillary Clinton who was under FBI investigation at the time. The Hill reports that records show McCabe attended a March 2015 meeting with McAuliffe designed to secure the governor’s support of Jill McCabe’s candidacy.
As The Hill concludes: McCabe has said he sought FBI legal advice on how to deal with his wife’s campaign. He nonetheless presided over the Clinton email case until just a few days before it was closed, when he unexpectedly recused himself. Multiple Republican lawmakers said Wednesday they believe the email case was tainted by political favoritism and special treatment for the 2016 Democratic nominee and planned to press Wray about their concerns. “We are here today calling for an investigation into FBI systems and procedures that have allowed special treatment and bias to run rampant,” Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) said. “The law demands equal treatment for all, not ‘special’ treatment for some. There is a clear and consistent pattern of treating the Clinton investigation differently than other investigations.”

Chief Master Sergeant (Retired), US Air Force
Before my son became a Marine, I never thought much about
who was defending me. Now when I read of the war on terrorism or the coming
conflict in Iraq, it cuts to my heart. When I see a picture of a member of our
military who has been killed, I read his or her name very carefully Sometimes I
cry.
In 1999, when the barrel-chested Marine recruiter showed
up in dress blues and bedazzled my son John, I did not stand in the way John
was headstrong, and he seemed to understand these stern, clean men with
straight backs and flawless uniforms. I did not. I live in the
Volvo-driving, higher education-worshiping North Shore of Boston I write novels
for a living. I have never served in the military.
It had been hard enough sending my two older children off
to Georgetown and New York University. John's enlisting was unexpected, so
deeply unsettling. I did not relish the prospect of answering the
question, "So where is John going to college?" from the parents who
were itching to tell me all about how their son or daughter was going to
Harvard. At the private high school John attended, no other students were
going into the military.
"But aren't the Marines terribly
Southern?" (Says a lot about open-mindedness in the Northeast) asked one
perplexed mother while standing next to me at the brunch following graduation.
"What a waste, he was such a good student," said another
parent. One parent (a professor at a nearby and rather famous university)
spoke up at a school meeting and suggested that the school should “ carefully
evaluate what went wrong."
When John graduated from three months of boot camp on
Parris Island, 3000 parents and friends were on the parade deck stands.
We parents and our Marines not only were of many races but also were
representative of many economic classes. Many were poor. Some arrived crammed
in the backs of pickups, others by bus. John told me that a lot of parents
could not afford the trip.
We in the audience were white and Native American.
We were Hispanic, Arab, and African American, and Asian. We were former
Marines wearing the scars of battle, or at least baseball caps emblazoned with
battles' names. We were Southern whites from Nashville and skinheads from
New Jersey, black kids from Cleveland wearing ghetto rags and white ex-cons
with ham-hock forearms defaced by jailhouse tattoos. We would not have been
mistaken for the educated and well-heeled parents gathered on the lawns of
John’s private school a half-year before.
After graduation one new Marine told John, "Before I
was a Marine, if I had ever seen you on my block I would've probably killed you
just because you were standing there." This was a serious statement
from one of John’s good friends, a black ex-gang member from Detroit who, as
John said, "would die for me now, just like I'd die for him."
My son has connected me to my country in a way that I was
too selfish and insular to experience before. I feel closer to the
waitress at our local diner than to some of my oldest friends. She has two sons
in the Corps. They are facing the same dangers as my boy. When the
guy who fixes my car asks me how John is doing, I know he means it. His
younger brother is in the Navy.
Why were I and the other parents at my son's private school
so surprised by his choice? During World War II, the sons and daughters of the
most powerful and educated families did their bit. If the idea of the
immorality of the Vietnam War was the only reason those lucky enough to go to
college dodged the draft, why did we not encourage our children to volunteer
for military service once that war was done?
Have we wealthy and educated Americans all become
pacifists? Is the world a safe place? Or have we just gotten used to
having somebody else defend us? What is the future of our democracy when
the sons and daughters of the janitors at our elite universities are far more
likely to be put in harm’s way than are any of the students whose dorms their
parents clean?
I feel shame because it took my son's joining the Marine
Corps to make me take notice of who is defending me. I feel hope because
perhaps my son is part of a future "greatest generation".
As the storm clouds of war gather, at least I know that I can look the men and
women in uniform in the eye. My son is one of them.
He is the best I have to offer---He is my heart!
"Faith is not about everything turning out OK; Faith
is about being OK no matter how things turn out."
GOD BLESS
AMERICA! PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR MILITARY...

Because I am a "lifer" in the
military, I've seen the impact of a president more than many of you can
imagine. I enlisted with LBJ and saw just what a Democrat clusterflock was all
about. I went to Vietnam and saw how we were constantly and incessantly
bombarded with micromanagement from Washington that got thousands of military
people killed. I sometimes wonder if I'll get to heaven, but if I go to hell,
I'm sure I'll still be a few hundred floors above that bastard Robert McNamara,
LB Johnson, John Kerry, Jane Fonda, and yes, even the "hero" John
McCain.
After Johnson "abdicated" rather than having his ass waxed, I lived
through Nixon who was hawkish but allowed the generals (and there WERE a few
real generals back then versus now) run the show. Nixon was so out of touch that
he never knew North Vietnam was about to surrender when the Paris Accord was
presented.
Only God could help us after Gerald Ford was beaten by Jimmy 'Peanuts' Carter
who'd been funded by Saudi money. The military was turned into Section 8 and
even the Whitehouse suffered the austerity.
Then the light began to shine and Ronald Reagan swept into the fray.. He not
only loved the country and the military, they loved him back. Esprit d'corps
was off the scale during his presidency. The Liberals were slowly turning into
socialists, however, and about this time all the draft dodgers of the 1960's
who'd been given amnesty by Jimmy 'Peanuts' were turning out college graduates
with degrees in socialism.
Bush 1 was an enigma from the CIA and though he never did much either way, he
NEVER DID MUCH EITHER WAY.
Welcome to Bill Clinton. Clinton spent most of his two terms wagging the dog
and creating the 'Oral' Office, sending a bomber to blow up Quaddafi's tent and
killing a goat or two, while allowing the UN to set up the infamous Black Hawk
Down situation. He made history by becoming only the second president to be
impeached.
I actually felt sorry for Bush 2. He was doomed to infamy from the start. He
thought most of America was still the rah, rah patriots of WWII when they were
'simply socialists' waiting to feed him to the sharks.
Then there came the Manchurian Candidate Obama with a faked (OK Democrats,
let's say "of questionable origin" to assuage your PC brains) birth
certificate, who'd gotten a free ride through college under a foreign student
exemption, and whose college records and complete life history had been
'sealed.' (We know more about Thomas Jefferson's bastard children than we do
about Obama, Michelle , OR their two faked kids.) From his inaugural address,
he slandered America and within days had begun to encourage dissention of the
races as well as slandering police who "acted stupidly." That was
mild to the crap that would come in doubling the national debt from what had
been built by ALL THE PREVIOUS PRESIDENTS COMBINED, feeding us bullshit about
how Muslims built this country, and nationalizing American industries. Fueled
by George Soros' money and using the Air Force fleet as his personal charters,
he appointed malcontents and traitors into positions of authority. He trashed
the Constitution by installing "czars" (interesting he chose a title
like that) to bypass Congressional authority. By that time, Congress was
completely corrupt on both sides of the aisle. No one had balls to impeach this
charlatan Obama.
Mysteriously, the lone outspoken conservative Supreme Court Justice Scalia
suddenly dies in his sleep at an Obama pal's hunting lodge and the Supreme
Court is evenly split. Finally, Congress shows some balls and rejects Obama's
Supreme Court Justice nomination. The Libertards aren't worried because the fix
is in. Soros 'has paid' demonstrators to cause turmoil at 'all the Republican
gatherings.' Obama concedes that illegal aliens should vote as they won't be
prosecuted, and Soros-manufactured voting machines are caught switching votes
in certain precincts Hillary has cheated her way to the nomination and her lies
are completely ignored by the brainwashed minions of sycophants who follow her.
But a shocking thing happened on the way to the forum.
Middle America had had enough and although the pollsters and the pipers tried
to convince middle America not even to bother to vote, they were fed up with
the denizens of the swamp. It was time Florida was designated a
"swing" state ignoring that all those old retirees living in St.
Petersburg, and the fed up Cuban Americans of Miami weren't interested in their
platform. Ohio and Pennsylvania , where coal production was blacklisted and
where Obama had ridiculed them for "clinging to their Bibles and their
guns," lay awaiting this supposed "landslide" Hillary vote,.....
and creamed it.
The Socialist world of the Democratic Party disintegrated. An American who
expressed unbridled love of country and respect for police, firemen, and
military steamrolled across the heartland and the liberals realized their
scheme was trashed. A CONSTITUTIONALIST would be nominated to the Supreme Court
and if the old hag Ginsburg who'd claimed to retire if Trump were elected would
actually retire and leave, the Supreme Court would have a massive majority of
CONSTITUTIONALISTS for the next 40-50 years.
Now, the same party who'd ridiculed Trump on his comments about the election
being rigged, started screaming that the election 'was' rigged. They even
advocated having the election repeated. They created mobs that burned and
pillaged, stopped traffic, threatened murder, battery and rape of Trump
supporters, and became the anarchists that the socialist dream thrives upon.
They run like castrated pigs for safe zones and use diaper pins as their
national symbol.
This is exactly what happens when political correctness takes over and
participation trophies are awarded to everyone . They can't conceive how
disgusting and subservient they have become.... Donald Trump may NOT be the
best person for the job, but he's such a welcome respite from the candy-assed
whimps who've been running the swamp that it's refreshing to see. At the very
least, Donald Trump derailed the Socialist train and bought us precious time.
If he only does half of what he's promised, we'll still be legions ahead of
where Obama has dragged us. Already countries who held us in contempt are
lining up to be found in the favor of America. Donald Trump has done more in
his short time in the public eye..he prevented Hillary Clinton from becoming
president!
So for you liberal lurkers and you half-assed fence-sitters, Tough Shit! You
had your big hurrah and now your party is over. For you staunch Republicans in
office, don't gloat so much yourselves. You've been put on notice by the
American people that we're fed up with ALL YOU BASTARDS and if you don't start
putting America first, you do so at your own peril. You might want to buy a
copy of George McGovern's autobiography and see how shocking and humbling it
can be for a professional politician to have to try to find legitimate work
once he falls from grace.
This election was pure, unadulterated AMERICAN. Hillary got beaten and AMERICA
WON THE ELECTION You can claim he's not "your president" all you
want, but unless you 'forfeit' your American citizenship ... YES, HE IS YOUR
PRESIDENT!!!!
Go cry a river some place they need water.
