Despite the fact this his half-brother is president of the United States, Malik Obama says he’ll be voting for Donald Trump this November, and that’s just fine with the Republican nominee.
“Wow, President Obama’s brother, Malik, just announced that he is voting for me,” Trump tweeted Sunday.
“Was probably treated badly by president-like everybody else!”

In an interview with the New York Post, Malik Obama, 58, said: “I like Donald Trump because he speaks from the heart.”
“Make America Great Again is a great slogan. I would like to meet him.”
Although he was born in Kenya, public records show Malik Obama has been a resident of Maryland, working for many years as an accountant, being registered as a lifelong Democrat.
But he told the Post his “deep disappointment” in Barack’s administration prompted him to recently switch allegiance to “the party of Lincoln.”
He said the last straw was the FBI’s recommendation of no charges for Democrat Hillary Clinton over her use of a private e-mail servers while U.S. secretary of state.
“She should have known better as the custodian of classified information,” said Malik Obama.
But even more of a thorn is the support of same-sex marriage by the Democratic Party.
“I feel like a Republican now because they don’t stand for same-sex marriage which appeals to me,” he told the paper.
He expressed disappointment that his brother Barack did not support him when he unsuccessfully ran for a governorship in Kenya in 2013, spending $20,000 out of his own pocket.
“I don’t think politics is my thing,” he told the Post. “Honestly, I’ll be happy when my brother is out of office, and I will finally be out of the limelight and be able to live like a human being.”
Until then, Obama wears his new GOP colors proudly; He even has a “Make America Great Again” hat.
“Mr. Trump is providing something new and something fresh,” he said.
