The last six seconds and a bad dream with no connection...

There's two stories here; one from a friend over at Facebook and another by me. I suppose the two stories do not share anything in common other than the fact they're both military stories and both about U.S. Marines and that about ends their connection.  My story has an entirely different slant in that the camaraderie among members of the military is never really explained nor understood by those who haven't served.  I think I can begin to make it a little clearer what it means when we say such things as, "comrades in arms"...let me begin by saying that I was a member of the United States Air Force and my friend and comrade was a United States Marine...and it wouldn't be right if I didn't say he was also a friend of the family...if the friendship was any closer we would be relatives.
It was sometime in the late 60's while living in the small village of Jichaku (spelling may not be right but that doesn't matter), Okinawa where only the islanders new where it's location was...except George.  George had spent some time here not too many years earlier as a dependent son of an Air Force Master Sargent.  The same Master Sargent who was stationed in Panama and California with my wife's family.  My wife practically grew up with George going to the same schools and living in the same military housing complex where ever they got stationed.  So I knew George pretty well before coming here but never did I expect to see him... knock, knock, hey, somebody's at the door.  Georgie ! What the hell are you doing here?  Great to see you !  Where have you been? How in God's name did you find us?
After a wonderful meal and chit-chat about family and friends back in the states I drove George back to his unit...he was now a United States Marine.  The only reason we got to see George was that he was a witness to some crime committed by another service member and he was delayed from going to Vietnam until the guy's trial was over.  Well I dropped George off at Kadena Air Force Base where he would be departing for the war that nobody liked;  that was sometime in November.
So let's fast forward to January of the next year.  I awoke one morning early, very early and was sitting on the side of the bed when my wife asked, "What's wrong?"  I said, "Oh nothing, I just had a bad dream."  Well if you know wives, they'll get the story out of you somehow.  After describing my bad dream of George on patrol up in the DMZ and seeing the sniper shooting from the tree line it was difficult to say that he was shot in the head...yes, I saw this in a dream so I had no control over it...the shot is what woke me up. Words of comfort
soothed my mindset and all was forgotten over the course of the day.  Then a few months had passed when my wife received a letter from home with a clipping from the San Antonio Light newspaper which read, "George C...... was killed in action at the DMZ, January ... and died of head injuries..."
George was just 21 years of age...a good looking guy that dreamed of owning a Corvette... I still dream of George.  Although we were not blood relatives, I was the last of the family to see him alive.  His name is on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, DC.  If you know the meaning of extra sensory perception you'll have a better grip on camaraderie; I had ESP that night in January.  Semper Fi George!

The following posted by: (My Facebook friend... I should point out that you can see the videos covering this story but you'll get a lot more out of it if you read it first...I posted the videos below but give it a read first, you'll be glad you did. ~ Norm)

Not a Christmas story but one of two enormously brave young Marines. God bless them.
If you haven’t seen this before, it’s well worth the read. These are the kind of young men that we are still fielding in our military, particularly the USMC. Unbelievable guts, bravery, and devotion to duty.
Lt. Gen. John Kelly, USMC, "The Last Six Seconds"
If you'd like to know more about Trump's pick for Homeland Security, USMC Gen. John Kelly, please read the speech that he gave just 4 days after he lost his son in combat. One can hardly conceive of the enormous grief held quietly within General Kelly as he spoke.
Even if you've read this before, read it again and then forward it to your friends......

On Nov 13, 2010, Lt General John Kelly, USMC, gave a speech to the Semper Fi Society of St. Louis, MO. This was four days after his son, Lt Robert Kelly, USMC, was killed by an IED while on his 3rd Combat tour. During his speech, General Kelly spoke about the dedication and valor of our young men and women who step forward each and every day to protect us.
During the speech, he never mentioned the loss of his own son. He closed the speech with the moving account of the last six seconds in the lives of two young Marines who died with rifles blazing to protect their brother Marines.
"The Last Six Seconds"
"I will leave you with a story about the kind of people they are, about the quality of the steel in their backs, about the kind of dedication they bring to our country while they serve in uniform and forever after as veterans. Two years ago when I was the Commander of all U.S. and Iraqi forces, in fact, the 22 ND of April 2008, two Marine infantry battalions, 1/9 "The Walking Dead," and 2/8 were switching out in Ramadi. One battalion in the closing days of their deployment going home very soon, the other just starting its seven-month combat tour. Two Marines, Corporal Jonathan Yale and Lance Corporal Jordan Haerter, 22 and 20 years old respectively, one from each battalion, were assuming the watch together at the entrance gate of an outpost that contained a makeshift barracks housing 50 Marines. The same broken down ramshackle building was also home to 100 Iraqi police, also my men and our allies in the fight against the terrorists in Ramadi, a city until recently the most dangerous city on earth and owned by Al Qaeda. Yale was a dirt poor mixed-race kid from Virginia with a wife and daughter, and a mother and sister who lived with him and whom he supported as well. He did this on a yearly salary of less than $23,000.
Haerter, on the other hand, was a middle class white kid from Long Island. They were from two completely different worlds. Had they not joined the Marines they would never have met each other, or understood that multiple America's exist simultaneously depending on one's race, education level, economic status, and where you might have been born. But they were Marines, combat Marines, forged in the same crucible of Marine training, and because of this bond they were brothers as close, or closer, than if they were born of the same woman.
The mission orders they received from the sergeant squad leader I am sure went something like, "Okay you two clowns, stand this post and let no unauthorized personnel or vehicles pass. You clear?"
I am also sure Yale and Haerter then rolled their eyes and said in unison something like, "Yes Sergeant," with just enough attitude that made the point without saying the words, "No kidding, we know what we're doing." They then relieved two other Marines on watch and took up their post at the entry control point of Joint Security Station Nasser, in the Sophia section of Ramadi, Al Anbar, Iraq.
A few minutes later a large blue truck turned down the alley way - perhaps 60-70 yards in length, and sped its way through the serpentine of concrete jersey walls. The truck stopped just short of where the two were posted and detonated, killing them both catastrophically. Twenty-four brick masonry houses were damaged or destroyed. A mosque 100 yards away collapsed. The truck's engine came to rest two hundred yards away knocking most of a house down before it stopped. Our explosive experts reckoned the blast was made of 2,000 pounds of explosives. Two died, and because these two young infantrymen didn't have it in their DNA to run from danger, they saved 150 of their Iraqi and American brothers-in-arms.
When I read the situation report about the incident a few hours after it happened I called the regimental commander for details as something about this struck me as different. Marines dying or being seriously wounded is commonplace in combat. We expect Marines regardless of rank or MOS to stand their ground and do their duty, and even die in the process, if that is what the mission takes. But this just seemed different. The regimental commander had just returned from the site and he agreed, but reported that there were no American witnesses to the event - just Iraqi police. I figured if there was any chance of finding out what actually happened and then to decorate the two Marines to acknowledge their bravery, I'd have to do it as a combat award that requires two eye-witnesses and we figured the bureaucrats back in Washington would never buy Iraqi statements. If it had any chance at all, it had to come under the signature of a general officer.
I traveled to Ramadi the next day and spoke individually to a half-dozen Iraqi police all of whom told the same story. The blue truck turned down into the alley and immediately sped up as it made its way through the serpentine. They all said, "We knew immediately what was going on as soon as the two Marines began firing." The Iraqi police then related that some of them also fired, and then to a man, ran for safety just prior to the explosion. All survived. Many were injured, some seriously. One of the Iraqis elaborated and with tears welling up said, "They'd run like any normal man would to save his life." "What he didn't know until then," he said, "And what he learned that very instant, was that Marines are not normal."
Choking past the emotion he said, "Sir, in the name of God, no sane man would have stood there and done what they did. No sane man. They saved us all."

What we didn't know at the time, and only learned a couple of days later after I wrote a summary and submitted both Yale and Haerter for posthumous Navy Crosses, was that one of our security cameras, damaged initially in the blast, recorded some of the suicide attack. It happened exactly as the Iraqis had described it. It took exactly six seconds from when the truck entered the alley until it detonated.
You can watch the last six seconds of their young lives. Putting myself in their heads I supposed it took about a second for the two Marines to separately come to the same conclusion about what was going on once the truck came into their view at the far end of the alley. Exactly no time to talk it over, or call the sergeant to ask what they should do. Only enough time to take half an instant and think about what the sergeant told them to do only a few minutes before, "Let no unauthorized personnel or vehicles pass." The two Marines had about five seconds left to live.
It took maybe another two seconds for them to present their weapons, take aim, and open up. By this time the truck was half-way through the barriers and gaining speed the whole time. Here, the recording shows a number of Iraqi police, some of whom had fired their AKs, now scattering like the normal and rational men they were - some running right past the Marines. They had three seconds left to live.
For about two seconds more, the recording shows the Marines' weapons firing non-stop the truck's windshield exploding into shards of glass as their rounds take it apart and tore in to the body of the ( I deleted) who is trying to get past them to kill their brothers - American and Iraqi-bedded down in the barracks totally unaware of the fact that their lives at that moment depended entirely on two Marines standing their ground.
If they had been aware, they would have known they were safe because two Marines stood between them and a crazed suicide bomber. The recording shows the truck careening to a stop immediately in front of the two Marines. In all of the instantaneous violence Yale and Haerter never hesitated. By all reports and by the recording, they never stepped back. They never even started to step aside. They never even shifted their weight. With their feet spread shoulder width apart, they leaned into the danger, firing as fast as they could work their weapons. They had only one second left to live.
The truck explodes. The camera goes blank. Two young men go to their God. Six seconds. Not enough time to think about their families, their country, their flag, or about their lives or their deaths, but more than enough time for two very brave young men to do their duty into eternity. That is the kind of people who are on watch all over the world tonight - for you.
We Marines believe that God gave America the greatest gift he could bestow to man while he lived on this earth - freedom. We also believe he gave us another gift nearly as precious - our soldiers, sailors, airmen, U S Customs and Border Patrol, Coast Guardsmen, and Marines - to safeguard that gift and guarantee no force on this earth can ever steal it away.
It has been my distinct honor to have been with you here today. Rest assured our America, this experiment in democracy started over two centuries ago, will forever remain the "land of the free and home of the brave" so long as we never run out of tough young Americans who are willing to look beyond their own self-interest and comfortable lives, and go into the darkest and most dangerous places on earth to hunt down, and kill, those who would do us harm.
God Bless America , and SEMPER FIDELIS !"

Joe Biden: Not even Hillary Clinton knew for sure why she ran for president
Some believe Vice President Joe Biden could have taken the 2016 election in a walk, but it was Hillary’s turn, right? Biden had quite a bit to say to Michael A. Memoli about the election in an interview published in the Los Angeles Times Thursday, but CNN managed to get right to the point in its tweet:

Obama's Get Tough Policy...he, he, he, that's funny!

Obama vows action against Russia over election hacks
United States President Barack Obama has warned that they will retaliate against Russia for launching cyber attacks during the presidential election after the White House accused senior-most Russian officials of direct involvement in hacking.
The outgoing US president said he was waiting for a final report he has ordered into a range of Russian hacking attacks that may have swayed last month’s tight election in which Republican candidate Donald Trump defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton.
“I think there is no doubt that when any foreign government tries to impact the integrity of our elections. That we need to take action and we will,” Obama told the National Public Radio in an interview.
“At a time and a place of our own choosing, some of it may be uh, explicit and publicized; some of it may not be,” he said according to an excerpts of the interview released by NPR.
The full interview would be aired on Friday, before leaving for his annual family vacation in Hawaii.
“Um, but Mr. Putin is well aware of my feelings about this, because I spoke to him directly about it,” Obama said.
Obama has ordered US intelligence agencies to conduct a full review of the hacking and report back to him before he leaves office on Inauguration Day January 20.
Press Secretary Josh Earnest on Thursday told reporters during the daily White House briefing that “Mr. Trump obviously knew that Russia was engaged in malicious cyber activity that was helping him, (and) hurting (Democrat Hillary) Clinton… “These are all facts that are not in dispute.”
Earnest pointed out that Trump had encouraged Moscow during a news conference to find missing emails from Clinton’s private server. Trump has said he was joking.
“I don’t think anybody at the White House thinks it’s funny that an adversary of the United States engaged in malicious cyber activity to destabilize our democracy,” Earnest said. “That’s not a joke.”
Earnest, without mentioning Russian President Vladimir Putin by name, also said “only Russia’s senior-most officials could have authorized these activities,” repeating the words from an October US intelligence assessment.

Putin To Obama: If You Lie About Me One More Time Russia Will…
Posted by Martin Walsh | Dec 16, 2016 | American Strength
Vladimir Putin has had enough of being accessed of “hacking the US presidential election.”
Putin, obviously well-aware of Hillary, Obama, and the Democrats blaming him for the election hacks, has issued a statement to Obama that should quickly send Obama looking for his safe space.
Putin, early Friday morning, said that: “The US must either stop accusing Russia of meddling in its elections or prove it. It is indecent of the United States to groundlessly accuse Russia of intervention in its elections.”
“You need to either stop talking about it, or finally show some kind of proof. Otherwise it just looks very indecent,” Putin added.
Putin also warned that Obama’s threat to “retaliate” to the alleged Russian hack is “against both American and international law,” and that if Obama had proof, he should show it or shut up.
Putin is exactly right. Democrats would be wise to do some self-reflection. The American people rejected Hillary Clinton and chose to elect a candidate that promised a stronger future.
Furthermore, Putin made it very clear that Russia would take be forced to take action if Obama continues to spread blatant, bold-faced lies.
Democrats are also missing the bigger picture: it wasn’t that fact that the emails were hacked, it was what the emails contained.  When you call half of the country deplorable, uneducated, and downright stupid that is going to turn people away.
So unless Hillary Clinton and Obama can prove that Putin carried out this hack, they should take Putin’s advice and shut their mouth.
What do you think about Putin’s bold comments to Obama, Hillary, and the Democrats?
Won’t it be nice to finally have a good relationship with Russia so that we can keep the world safer and work together?

Barack Obama has two faces. After Trump’s victory and Hillary’s defeat, the public Obama has been gracious and diplomatic. His lectures to Trump, directly and indirectly, are couched in praise. He echoed the feeling of millions on both sides when he said, "We are now all rooting for his success”.
That’s a lie…Or rather a disguise.
Obama and his aides had, in one insider narrative, decided to don the “mask of decorum”. The contempt for Trump still seeps through the mask. And the mask hides Obama’s next big move.
President Obama is over. He knows that. There are still some things that he can do before he leaves office, but everything except the most destructive, can be undone by his successor. The next phase of his campaign will not be fought from the White House. It will be fought against the White House .
The other Obama is emerging in conference calls with his supporters. “One of the challenges that I’ve discovered being president is I’d like to be organizer-in-chief, but it’s hard,” he said in one call.
Obama can no longer be commander-in-chief. Instead he’s plotting to become organizer-in-chief.
The infrastructure for the organization was put into place long before anyone thought that Hillary might lose. Organizing for Action gave him his own organizing hub. If Hillary had won, it would have been a pressure group. Now that Trump won, it’s an axis to build a personal counterrevolution around.
In his post-election conference call with his OFA troops, Obama told them, “I’m giving you like a week and a half to get over it”. Then it would be time to “move forward not only to protect what we’ve accomplished, but also to see this as an opportunity”. What opportunity could there be in Trump’s win?
Obama is now the only major national figure still standing among the Democrats. After Hillary’s defeat, he’s worked hard to attribute the loss to her shortcomings, not his policies and decisions. That’s not just to soothe his ego. If he’s going to dictate the future of his party, he can’t afford to be blamed for its latest disaster. And Obama is still determined to dictate the future of the party and the country.
In conventional politics, Obama is done. There’s no way back into the White House. And Hillary’s fate won’t leave much enthusiasm for nominating the uncharismatic spouse of a charismatic ex-president.
But Obama is not a conventional politician. He’s an organizer and a campaigner at the vanguard of a radical movement that seeks to control traditional institutions, but doesn’t feel bound by them. Unlike Bill Clinton, his plans don’t begin and end with the White House. As an organizer, Obama is equipped to build bases of power outside traditional institutions. And that is exactly what he is doing.
The demoralization of the Democrats is, as Obama put it, an opportunity. Social chaos is a time for the left to overthrow and undermine traditional institutions. Fear, anger and despair are radicalizing. The left has always operated by throwing bombs and then profiting from the fallout. That’s Obama’s agenda. Having wrecked the country and the Democrats, he sees that not as a setback, but as an opportunity.
“The network that you represent, you're perfectly poised to do that,” Obama told his OFAers. “In other words, now is the time for some organizing.”
While the leftist rioters in the streets are garnering the most attention, the real threat comes from the network of staffers dubbed Obama Anonymous which are beginning to organize and coordinate. OFA is Obama’s equivalent of the Clinton Foundation. The Clintons built Clintonworld around staffers, but its goal was harvesting money. Obama Inc. is being built around organizing and activism. Like Clintonworld, it will be a network encompassing a variety of political and non-profit institutions. Unlike them, it will be much less focused on directing money to its bosses in preparation for an election. Instead it will function like a traditional leftist movement, merging influence operations with crowdsourced mobilization.
OFA will be far more dangerous in the wild than the Clinton Foundation ever was. The Clintons hoped to ride back to power on a giant wave of money. Obama is taking a much more radical course.
The staffers exiting government are being wired into Obama Inc. whether or not they take jobs directly working for him. The OFA alumni are building networks across organizations while taking their marching orders from him. They expect Obama to lead them back from the wilderness and into the halls of power.
He’s told them so.
“I'm going to be constrained in what I do with all of you until I am again a private citizen. But that's not so far off,” he assured them. “I'm still fired up and I'm still ready to go.” His next comments promised that radical political change could and would take place.
Obama isn’t going to retire. He’s not going to spend years puttering around with a presidential library. He’s not even going to set up a Clintonesque slush fund and try to make his wife president. Instead he wants to force radical change from outside the White House by using the network he’s built.
While the public Obama wraps up business at the White House, concludes yet another world tour, alternating between praising Trump and offering him condescending advice, the other Obama is preparing to deploy a network that will dominate the Dems and set the agenda on the left.
If Obama succeeds, then he will get another shot at picking his White House successor. But beyond that, he’s been handed the keys to an organizing machine that will allow him to set even more of the agenda for his party than ever before. And he has a cause that is sending the party reeling back into his arms.
Obama believes that he can rule America from outside the White House.  And he might be right.
Political norms and old rules have been falling faster than leaves in an autumn wind. If Obama sets out to move the center of power outside the White House and into an organization that will control national politics through the left, it would be dangerous to assume that he can’t and won’t succeed.
The Democrats didn’t respond to their defeat, one of a sequence, by trying to move to the center. Instead there is every sign that they are moving further to the left. Keith Ellison, a radical leftist with an anti-Semitic past, is tipped to head the DNC. Schumer still has the Senate, but Elizabeth Warren may have it before too long. Combine that with Obama as the president-in-exile and the Dems will be more radical and extremist than they were even when Obama was sitting in the White House.
The Democrats are ceasing to be a national party. Instead they are becoming a nationalizing party. They are losing their presence in much of the country, from state legislature to state legislature, and becoming the party of major cities and the national government. Their agenda is to move power from local areas to central ones, from the villages and the suburbs to the cities, from states to D.C. and from locally elected legislators in D.C. to the satellite bureaucracies of the Federal government.
Obama sees Hillary’s defeat as an opportunity to burn the Dem’s last bridges with the larger country and its “bitter clingers”, to double down on nationalizing power and to define the political narrative around the agendas of urban elites. The left crippled the Democrats. Now it wants to utterly consume them.
Barack Obama is still being vague and coy about his plans. He informs reporters that he will attack Trump when it comes to "core questions about our values and ideals". But the “faithful” are getting much clearer signals. “You’re going to see me early next year, and we’re going to be in a position where we can start cooking up all kinds of great stuff to do.”
The election was a catastrophic disaster for the Democrats, but it opened all sorts of doors for Obama.
Hillary’s defeat removes the Clintons, his only real internal rivals, off the stage. Trump’s triumph in working class areas cuts more ties with the traditional Dem base and transforms it into a party of left-wing urban elites and their radical agendas. And the popular figures on the left, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Keith Ellison, lack his national stature, speaking skills and organization.
Obama will move to consolidate the left. And then the Democrats. He will function as a president-in-exile heading up the opposition to Trump. When it comes to verbally challenging Trump, Obama will be more likely to be interviewed and heard than Ellison or Schumer. And his people will coordinate responses across the left from street level organizing to think tanks and policy moves.
Some of it is ego.
Obama believes that he can find the key to beating Trump in the traditional tactics of the left. But most is ideology and power. Obama is not done transforming America. And America isn’t done with him yet.

The Current State of the Union (December 2016)

Well I don't expect Barack Hussein Obama will draft his last State of the Union address like the following... Traditionally the outgoing president does not give a State of the Union Address; the incoming president may give one, but in the interim we could pretty much sum up for ourselves the true State of the Union as it is at the moment.  Just take a look at any of the social media websites and you're bound to find an accurate description...the following from I said, "An accurate description."

Subject: Current State of the Nation
To all the lefties out there! We saw Kennedy get shot on TV the Shuttle blow up, and 9-11 unfold in real time in the news. We went to work and school, cried out in the open, not in a safe space, pulled up our big boy and girl pants and went about our day as usual although our harts were breaking! We resolved to be stronger, love each other and America more. We were all disappointed when Obama was reelected. We knew that our country would barely survive, but we did not riot, need crayons and play doe, or wear safety pins! To the left, get over it. This was an election and your side lost, our side lost the last two elections. This is how the democratic republic works. Trust me when I tell you, you will probably be in the Trump camp by the end of four years. Job opportunity will improve, you will see the difference living with free markets instead of socialism. And the race relations will improve, because Trump is not a racist. Keeping our borders closed is for our safety, not racism. There will be religious freedom again, free speech again! Our 2nd amendment is saved and our courts will preserve our constitution! I suggest you all read the constitution and the bill of rights, documents that have stood the test of time because they were brilliant and before their time. It's time you tried to self educate yourselves, because your parents and schools have miserably failed you!
Virgil Britt I have never in my adult life witnessed the behavior that is being displayed by the Liberals after the loss in this election. Writing thousands of letters to Electors requesting that they vote for the losing candidate instead of the candidate that won the election is asinine. Suck it up Buttercups the people have spoken and don't give me the argument about the popular vote.
Bonnie McConnell I'm surprised that the identities of the electors are known by the general public. We don't publicize the names of jurors on high profile cases!
Nora Halpert I agree I have never seen this kind of behavior before ... so scary.
Nora Halpert What this is doing is confirming to Trump supporters, and a lot of moderate Democrats how very dangerous Progressives are, and how lucky we are they were kicked out. The behavior they're exhibiting only makes them look bad.
Bonnie McConnell I'm on pins and needles today hoping the electors do the right thing. Michael Moore offered to pay the penalties of the electors that flipped! The Clinton camp is blaming everyone but Hillary for her loss. Sad that they are so delusional and criminal.

Wreaths Across America...Cape Cod Location

It was a cold and wet day on the Cape today and many patriotic Americans showed up at the nation's second largest National Cemetery (2nd largest and I didn't know until today!) to lay wreaths in honor of those who have gone before us...those who have donned the uniform to defend the Republic for which we stand...those who died too young an age...and those who's age reflected the battles they fought.  This was our first attendance at such a function so we didn't know what to expect.  There were the guest speakers...some who talked to long, and some who couldn't talk long enough... like the father of a Medal of Honor recipient...  There were official Honor Guards representing various of which fired off their rifles in a 21 gun salute (7 rifles fired 3 times each).  Then came the instructions for all in attendance.
There was 8,000 wreaths available, not nearly enough for the 85,000 buried here, and we randomly picked one of the trucks transporting the wreaths and offloading their cargo at randomly selected sections of the cemetery. It was requested by the organizers that the volunteers laying the wreaths say the name on the headstone and pause for a moment of silence.  Admittingly, I soon forgot this request and spoke to my comrades as if they were still in formation and saluted them, officers and enlisted alike.  I did not know anyone of them personally but they were all personally my buddies. Some even had the same rank and service branch as I...some had memories of my own active duty days...some had my greatest admiration...sorry but I'm at a loss for words now so check out these pictures, they might bring you the words to fill in the blanks:

Then chatted with my new buddy...

Then a final salute and farewell...

Rest in peace my friends, your wars are over.

Oliver Cromwell's Message to Obama and the United States Congress

Storm'n Norm'n
It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place, which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice; ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government; ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.
Is there a single virtue n...ow remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess? Ye have no more religion than my horse; gold is your God; which of you have not barter'd your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth? Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defil'd this sacred place, and turn'd the Lord's temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices? Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation; you were deputed here by the people to get grievances redress'd, are you yourselves gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors. In the name of God, go!

From Oliver Cromwell's speech on the dissolution of the Long Parliament given to the House of Commons 20 April 1653.

Obama on his way out still has a death wish for America

Obama Warns: Must Embrace Muslims to Protect Against Terrorism
We’ve received yet another lecture from our (soon-to-be FORMER) President.   Even as Islamist terror attacks occur around the globe, he cautions Americans against stereotyping Muslims based on the actions of of a few extremists.   After all, “It’s not who we are.”

The Washington Times reports – In a clear warning shot at President-elect Donald Trump, President Obama said Tuesday the U.S. can only protect the homeland against terrorism by embracing Muslims and encouraging a society “that can criticize a president without retribution.”

Speaking to special operations troops at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, Mr. Obama delivered his final speech on the war on terrorism as a thinly veiled reminder for Mr. Trump about “what we’re fighting for.”

“The United States of America is not a country that imposes religious tests as a price for freedom,” Mr. Obama said in a reference to Mr. Trump’s proposal to temporarily ban Muslim immigrants. “The United States of America is not a place where some citizens have to withstand greater scrutiny or carry a special ID card or prove that they’re not an enemy from within.”

The president said the U.S. must remain true to its values that “each of us has a responsibility to sustain the universal right to speak your mind and protest against authority, to live in a society that’s open and free, that can criticize a president without retribution.”

Isn’t it ironic that he is perfectly fine with the scrutiny of law-abiding U.S. citizens who are gun owners, making them register, investigating them, etc.  But, I digress.

World-wide, Muslims demonstrate that they’re the most intolerant humans on the planet, especially to those of other religions.  Case in point, Omar Ahmad, CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) was quoted as saying:

“Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant.”

“The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on earth.”

Let’s examine that.  Earlier this year, Daniel Mann wrote a piece that offered some insight into the Koran and the “tolerance” of Muslims.

The Qur’an and the Sayings of Muhammad teach that they cannot be friends with non-Muslims:

·     [Surah 3:27] “Let not the believers take the disbelievers for friends rather than believers. And whoever does this has no connection with Allah unless it is done [deceptively] to guard yourselves against them, guarding carefully.”

·     [5:54] “O ye who believe, take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors. They are but friends and protectors to each other.”

·     [60:1] “O you who believe! Take not My enemies and your enemies (i.e. disbelievers and polytheists) as friends, showing affection towards them, while they have disbelieved in what has come to you of the truth.”

·     [60:4] “Indeed there has been an excellent example for you in Ibraaheem [Abraham] and those with him, when they said to their people: ‘Verily, we are free from you and whatever you worship besides Allaah, we have rejected you, and there has started between us and you, hostility and hatred for ever until you believe in Allaah Alone.’”

If they are truly Muslim, they must obey the teachings of Muhammad, which allegedly come from their god, Allah. What do these teachings require of a Muslim? One consistent teaching requires the death of the infidel if he refuses to convert or to submit entirely to Shari’a law:

·     (Surah 8:37) “Make war on them until idolatry is no more and Allah’s religion (Islam) reigns supreme.”

·     (4:5) “When the Sacred Months are over, kill those who ascribe partners [like Jesus] to God wheresoever ye find them; seize them, encompass them, and ambush them; then if they repent and observe prayer and pay the alms, let them go their way’.”

·     “…kill the disbelievers wherever we find them” (2:191) and “murder them and treat them harshly” (9:123); and “Strike off the heads of the disbelievers” (8:12, cp. 8:60).

In Islam, what is understood by these many commands to commit jihad until the entire world is under the Islamic Caliphate? Ibn Khaldun, the 15th-century Tunisian historian, explained:

·     In the Muslim community, the holy war is a religious duty, because of the universalism of the Muslim mission and the obligation to convert everybody to Islam either by persuasion or by force… Islam is under obligation to gain power over other nations.

How does Obama’s pervading message of tolerance and acceptance of Muslims and Islam as a religion of peace match up with these teachings?

President Obama – your time is up.  It’s time to be prudent.  It’s time for Trump.
