How Eric Holder Could End Up in Jail

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa is circulating a draft citation finding Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress. If convicted of multiple counts of criminal contempt, Holder could be facing extensive jail time and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines. He has failed to turn over tens of thousands of documents, and each document could result in separate fines.
Holder could also be facing charges of perjury and obstruction of justice. Under oath on May 3, 2011, he indicated he had only known about Fast and Furious for “a few weeks,” when in fact he had received memoranda on the program dating back to July 2010. The Fast and Furious project was administered by his Department’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
Holder has both obstructed justice and engaged in contempt of Congress by yielding less than ten percent of the documents requested (some 7,000 out of 80,000 documents).
The Phoenix ATF office kept a record of the firearms’ serial numbers that gun dealers were told to sell to Fast and Furious buyers, who then in turn sold them to the Sinaloa Cartel. Of the 2500 Fast and Furious guns, some 600 have been recovered at crime scenes. Not only that, they have resulted in the murders of more than 300 Mexican nationals and two U.S. federal agents.
If the Committee were to approve the issuing of the citation, the measure would then be placed before the full House of Representatives. What would happen next if the House approved the citation?
If the House goes for civil contempt, lawyers for the House would then go to the DC District Federal Court to seek a writ of mandamus. Upon approval, the court would order Holder to turn over the documents, and, if he refused or failed to do so, the court would then order US Marshalls to arrest the Attorney General.
There is a detention area in the Capitol complex, although the Court would presumably incarcerate Holder on Pennsylvania Avenue in the Prettyman Federal Court House. He would certainly cause less trouble in such a venue.

As a result of his refusal to honor House committee subpoenas demanding the release of some 70 thousand Fast and Furious-related documents currently withheld by the Department of Justice, Eric Holder faces the very real possibility of arrest and imprisonment by the House of Representatives.
“Your actions lead us to conclude that the [Justice] Department is actively engaged in a cover-up,” wrote House Government Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa to Attorney General Holder just two days before his February 2nd testimony before the Committee. (1)
Stating what interested Americans have known for a year or more, Issa speaks of the contempt in which the Attorney General holds the Republican led House of Representatives and his resulting willingness to ignore subpoenas and set the terms under which he will permit DOJ officials to produce documents or respond to Committee questions.
“During your testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on December 8th, 2011, you stated that the Department of Justice will not produce any responsive documents created after February 4, 2011 regarding Operation Fast and Furious,” writes Issa of Holder’s utter disregard for congressional authority. (1)
And February 4th was a very significant date in the history of Fast and Furious. On that day, Assistant Attorney General Ron Weich addressed a letter to congress, claiming the Department of Justice had allowed no alleged “gunwalking” to take place, directly contradicting the testimony provided Senator Charles Grassley by ATF whistle blowers.
And that lie was maintained by the Department until May 5th when Holder suddenly altered the DOJ’s recollection of events in a meeting of underlings and House committee staff.
Yet with all the evidence of DOJ involvement in the Fast and Furious cover-up and all the complaints of Committee members concerning the non-compliance of Holder and his DOJ herd, the REAL question...

An over simplification ...

Wouldn't it be wonderful if a poor man like Storm'n Norm'n could be elected president... Most all of our problems would be solved almost overnight...sending Eric Holder to jail would be the beginning of the process... How sweet it would be!!!

If the United States Senate ratifies the Law Of The Sea Treaty (LOST) the real estate known collectively as the United States of America will cease to exist.  What will happen is the U.S. will become simply one state among hundreds of other states (formerly countries) that will have one vote at the United Nations concerning anything to do with the world's oceans...that's everything from pollution, mining of the sea bed for minerals, drilling for oil, navigation and/or sailing and any monetary profits obtained from the oceans must be shared with those other states (formerly countries) that may or may not have had an investment in the exploration nor the wherewith all to contribute to such endeavors.  Simply put, if you invested millions of dollars into a drilling operation and discovered oil you will most likely have to share it with Russia or any or all countries decided upon by the United Nations.  This treaty will also allow UN officials to travel freely throughout our state (formerly 50 states) completely immune to our laws (see subsection g of LOST). Anyone...that should be ANYONE supporting this treaty has called for an end of the United States as we know it. ~ Norman E. Hooben

Senate Considers Ceding Power to U.N., Sinking U.S. Economy in One Blow

Just like a horror movie series, evil-minded Soviet-era treaties just keep coming back to life, aided by their acolytes in the United States Senate.
John Kerry, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and mate of the Heinz ketchup fortune, last week decided to revisit the aptly named Law of the Sea Treaty — or LOST.
This treaty was originally rejected by President Reagan, but the LOST agenda has been lurking around the corridors of the United Nations ever since.
The treaty, which was endorsed by the former Soviet Union, would reduce our military power, rob us of rights over our own coastal resources, subject U.S. actions in international waters to the authority of foreign countries and submit our country to an international taxing agency that would “redistribute” our wealth to other nations, including some of our enemies.
Naturally, the liberals like it. And by liberals I mean not just Democrats but some of the RINOs hiding in the GOP camp, such as the five living Republican secretaries of state, from Kissinger to Rice.
The best reasons conjured for approving LOST include joining the international community in regulating the seas, “having a seat at the table” to negotiate rights over resources and having legal recourse should other nations violate our rights. Most incredibly, promoters of this treaty seem to think we’ll believe it increases our national security.

First, joining the international community to regulate the seas: We can already do that without the United Nations being given authority over us. It’s called diplomacy and negotiation.
Having a seat at the table: Unless you’re talking about an invitation to a gourmet feast or at least Thanksgiving dinner, a seat at the table isn’t worth much. Easy marks have a seat at the table, then they get taken for everything they’re worth and dumped in a back alley for their trouble.
Legal recourse against other nations that violate our rights: We have that already, again without the U.N. It’s called the United States military –and it’s a lot more effective than a pronouncement from some international courtroom.
As for increasing our national security, only a liberal could think that joining a treaty that requires us to give away secrets and our best technology to foreign nations that may use it against us is a way to secure the country.

The biggest stupidity of this treaty, however, is its granting of taxing authority to a Jamaica-based International Seabed Authority, especially at a time when the U.S. economy is suffering under its third year of recession. To raise taxes now would drive a stake through American businesses and the middle class.

The LOST convention represents a complete violation of the trust voters put in their representatives. Naturally, President Obama is already on board. Conservative voters need to tell their Senators to vote against it and keep LOST from being ratified.
