1. Russia to build 6 nuclear subs with cruise missiles

MOSCOW, Russia (CNN) -- Russia will build at least six nuclear-powered submarines with long-range cruise missiles for its navy, a source in the Russian Defense Ministry told the Itar-Tass news agency. 4. Russia To Create Artic Troops To Defend Ice Treasures

Russia intends to create Arctic troops to maintain security of the Russian part of the Arctic Ocean under the conditions of the current political situation in the world. The region is said to become Russia’s leading strategic base by 2016, The Kommersant newspaper wrote.

The document posted on the official website of the Russian Security Council said that the Arctic troops would be set up to maintain the military security under various conditions of the military and political situation. The document also envisages the establishment of the Coast Guard system in the Arctic region. Read more at Pravda


4. North Korea Sets Army On Full Alert

The situation in the Asian-Pacific region continues to aggravate over the plans of the North Korean administration to launch a satellite into space. North Korea says that it is going to launch a civil satellite, although its neighboring states and the USA (of course) believe that Pyongyang is getting ready to test a ballistic missile.
