America’s Idiocracy:
How Have We Become Pawns of Whoever Governs?

Rush Limbaugh made an
astounding statement during his program on the day following the State of the
Union sermon. Mr. Limbaugh confessed that he hadn’t understood that America
doesn’t connect the Lyin’ King or his policies with the ills besetting the
nation.
What caused his epiphany?
Mr. Limbaugh arrived at his conclusion after watching a focus group, post
presidential speech. This focus group was composed entirely of former Romney
voters. The focus group, like a majority of the nation, professed to hate the
direction the country is taking yet loved the president’s speech. Mr. Limbaugh
was gob-smacked by this demonstration of “double-think.” What Mr. Limbaugh
acknowledged was illuminating but, it only highlighted the tip of the iceberg.
Mr. Limbaugh, quite
correctly, identified that the president always makes certain that he is never
perceived as “governing.” He is solely focused on playacting at resisting the
phantoms he claims are to blame for the problems that beset us. The problems
are never the president’s doing. Mr. Limbaugh added that such behavior is a
staple of dictatorship. Yet The Anointed One continues to be believed by a
large portion of the constituency. His every deceit is accepted as truth,
despite his history of lying to us about everything, day in and day out.
The existence of such
Orwellian conduct, by the president as well as the public, isn’t the major
problem. The reasons for it are. In order for such a dichotomy to be
possible there must exist near total ignorance of logic and common sense. And
this is the issue that is not being addressed.
Common sense is anything
but common. Every voluntary action a human being performs must be learned. A
human being is not born with common sense. And logic must accompany common
sense. Logic is a discipline that is based upon fact and evidence of whatsoever
is true. Logic teaches one to think. Without it, “common sense” would still
dictate that the earth is flat.
Logic used to be a
required subject in school. It isn’t anymore. That isn’t an oversight. Bertrand
Russell knew this over 60 years ago: “Education should aim at destroying free
will, so that, after pupils have left school, they shall be incapable,
throughout the rest of their lives, of thinking or acting otherwise than as
their schoolmasters would have wished.” (Page 50 – The Intended Result of
Education, c. 1952). He wasn’t advocating this idea; he was simply stating
the obvious.

Political Correctness
completes the destructive hat trick. When thinking is restricted thinking
ceases to exist. Everything from eroding personal freedoms to gun control to
the blind acceptance of any and every perversion are byproducts of what is
deemed permissible thought and what is not.
We have hate crime. Hate crime outranks crime.
Why? How can any murder be of less significance than another murder? Worse,
certain interest groups, we are told, are exempt from hate crime. Their status
as minorities makes hate crime “impossible.” Christopher Dorner is a prime
example. He slaughtered nearly every racial type and gender of human being yet
excuses were made and the mainstream media urged us to consider the
“discrimination” he was fighting against. Affirmative action, elected officials
are given a free pass (Keith Ellison and Maxine Waters spring immediately to
mind) to pursue just about any foolish behavior, word or deed, that occurs to
them. Why is this accepted?
The University of
Wisconsin teaches a course whose focus is that it is an unfair advantage to be
white. No one questions what the criteria are or who got to decree what is
unfair and what is not. Dr. Benjamin Carson, a world-famous, pediatric
neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins, had the audacity to raise the alarm PC poses to
thought at the recent National Prayer Breakfast. He did it right to the
president’s face. How unutterably sad that PC begs the question, had Dr. Carson
not been a black man, would his reputation have survived making that speech?
There is still doubt; an infuriated media attempted to marginalize him,
publicly asking whether his comments were “appropriate,” all because Dr. Carson
committed blasphemy by speaking his mind.
When logic, common sense and the ability to say
what one thinks becomes irrelevant it becomes effortless for any ruling class
to supply whatever “facts” they want Americans to believe. Our current reality
is that facts no longer matter; instead we pay court to emotion. The danger in
not understanding that this is the real predicament is immense; if one
doesn’t recognize the problem how can one fix the problem?
Progressives have controlled education, social
services and PC for nearly 100 years. “Low information voters” are created when
only low information is made available; when indoctrination replaces education.
An eighth grade education used to be tantamount to what is currently attained
in college.
The left’s agenda may well be the destruction of
our ability to think. Without such aptitude there is no rule of law. Everything
becomes mutable. The Constitution becomes disposable. Without thought we are
unable to protect ourselves. We become pawns of whoever governs.
The Lyin’ King claims he is “not a dictator.” Perhaps. But he is within a stone’s throw. He is the
pinnacle of preparations launched long ago. The absence of logical thought
makes it easy to see how the man spearheading our ruin got reelected. We should
be taking steps, right now, to launch the long journey back to rationality.
