"Excuse me, but since when are our founding documents so offensive."

I must be getting senile.  How could I let this story go by?  This story broke about four months ago so in case you missed it I present it here for your total displeasure...anyone who is pleased with this news should be deported!  Of course such stories would never materialize if we had a real American in the White House.  Lets face it, all the latest anti-American rhetoric is not just from the far left Democrats...Obama himself has campaigned on anti-American rhetoric only he did it ever so slyly his supporters (voters) never knew what he was talking about...just kinda sounded OK.  Like this:
"...that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. Says what the states can't do to you. Says what the federal government can't do to you, but doesn't say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf."
I beg to differ with Mr. Negative (Obama), the Constitution is the world's greatest document for positive freedoms.  Without the Constitution I would be unable to criticise Mr. Wonderful (Obama) and without the Constitution, Wilder Publications would be unable to print the following...aah, take that back, Wilder Publications does not need the Constitution, all they need is Obama! ~ Norman E. Hooben

Muzzling the Constitution
I work in the psychiatric field, so very little shocks me. However, I was completely incredulous to learn of a publishing company putting a warning label on reprints of the Constitution and other historical documents. The disclaimer, by Wilder Publications, also appears on copies of its Declaration of Independence, Common Sense, the Articles of Confederation and the Federalist Papers. It reads as follows:

“This book is a product of its time and does not reflect the same values as it would if it were written today. Parents might wish to discuss with their children how views on race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, and interpersonal relations have changed since this book was written before allowing them to read this classic work.”

Excuse me, but since when are our founding documents so offensive that they need a disclaimer? If our core values have changed so drastically since our country was born, it’s certainly news to me. I have a few questions. What exactly are they suggesting that children need to be briefed about? Do our impressionable children need to be shielded from the dangerous concepts of limited government, free speech, individual liberty, personal responsibility and free markets? Where did Wilder Publications get the asinine idea that such a disclaimer was even necessary?

I consider myself fortunate not to have children in the public school system, because God only knows what they’d be learning. If I did have children, I certainly “might wish to discuss” with them the value of home schooling. There seems to be an enormous push in schools to apologize for America and accentuate the flaws in our history. However, the growing popularity of the highly patriotic Tea Parties demonstrates how out-of-touch such “revisionist history” has become. Sure, we’ve made mistakes, and our founding fathers had their share of flaws, to which many of them willingly admitted. This is the very reason they believed so strongly in the “Rule of Law” as opposed to the “Rule of Men.”

American Majority published a pamphlet entitled “Why America is Great,” where they write the following about our founders:

“They looked back and learned from history what worked and what didn’t. They understood the unflattering aspects of human nature, and instead of glossing over them, they confronted them and built safeguards against them. They built a new nation on principles that even they imperfectly understood and imperfectly applied. But they knew these principles were true and that they were worth fighting—and dying—for. Let us, also imperfect, follow their example… Let us not pin our hopes or try to build our future on the fads or “ologies” or even the movements of the moment, but instead upon the principles that have stood the test of time. The time has come to renew those principles in our nation—to learn to apply them in the age in which we now live.”
Amazon.com has gotten hundreds of negative reviews from customers regarding Wilder Publications’ disclaimers. I’m happy to see I’m in good company.

Rules of Engagement

I have often said that there is sufficient evidence to prosecute Obama for criminal offenses against the United States of America...and he should spend the remainder of his life behind bars.  Yet no-one has the intestinal fortitude to simple walk up to this scumbag and read him his Miranda rights and cuff him.  Now that we have learned as Commander-In-Chief he is personally responsible for the deaths (or the potential death) of our servicemen...imagine not being able to have bullets in your gun when the enemy is firing at you (see video below).  This is totally irresponsible!  Time to court martial the enemy within! ~ Norman E. Buzz Patterson: Obama's 'Conduct Unbecoming'

By: Jim Meyers
President Bill Clinton’s Senior Military Aide Robert “Buzz” Patterson tells Newsmax that a fundraiser and “close acquaintance” of Barack Obama should be prosecuted for treason for aiding America’s enemies.

Patterson, a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and best-selling author, also says morale among American forces in Afghanistan is poor and the troops have “absolutely no faith” in their commander-in-chief Obama’s intention of winning the war.

Patterson’s latest book is “Conduct Unbecoming: How Barack Obama Is Destroying the Military and Endangering Our Security.” In an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, he was asked why he believes Obama is damaging the military.

“He’s trying to change the military culture,” Patterson says.

“A perfect example is they’re trying to push through repeal of the don’t ask, don’t tell policy, which right now prohibits open homosexuality in the uniformed services.

“He’s trying to remake the military culture much in his own image, much in the image of the radicals he associates himself with.

“I’m very fearful of that. I think the repercussions are going to be wide and large. I think you’re going to see a lot of really talented people leave the military. In fact, one of the surveys I quote in my book concludes that up to 25 percent of our uniformed services members may leave if this act is repealed.

“The problem is that [repeal] tries to socially engineer the military at a time when we’re fighting a war. You’re going to have a lot of folks who’ll leave the service — they’ll vote with their feet by actually leaving — because they don’t want to put up with all the issues and problems.

“I ask the question: Do we really want to go through all this right now?”

Patterson notes that when Obama was running for president, he made Jodie Evans his key fundraiser in California. Evans is co-founder of the radical anti-military group CODEPINK, which raised more than $600,000 for the insurgents fighting U.S. soldiers in Iraq. Paterson was asked if that rises to the level of treason.

“It most definitely does,” he responds.

“Jodie Evans not only raised that money for CODEPINK, but she delivered that money personally to the insurgents who were fighting and killing U.S. Marines in 2005. And Obama did use her as a fundraiser. In fact, she has been a personal guest at the Obama White House since his election, so she’s not just somebody he used as a fundraiser, she is a close acquaintance and she is in my opinion a traitor.

“The reason she has not been prosecuted to date, I believe, is she has gotten a pass, much like Obama has, from the mainstream media.”

President Obama has no real intention of winning the war in Afghanistan, Patterson states.

“Obama won’t even use the word ‘victory.’ The man can’t even utter the fact that we’re fighting against radical fundamentalist Islam. He can’t even identify the enemy. How do you defeat an enemy if you can’t identify him?”
Afghanistan “is going to become another Vietnam if we’re not careful,” he adds.

Asked about the morale of American troops in Afghanistan, Patterson tells Newsmax: “The morale is not doing well. They understand quite clearly that their commander-in-chief is not looking out for their best welfare, that their commander-in-chief is not dedicated to winning the war in Afghanistan or giving them the tools necessary to win, and the morale is suffering.

“The guys in uniform right now have absolutely no faith in Barack Obama.”

Storm'n Norm'n...taking a look at Texas...and supporting Kathie Glass! Don't you think everyone should !!!

I was just over to Texas Fred's place and saw that he was giving his all out support to Kathie Glass for governor of Texas.  Fred went on to explain some of the reasons why he supports her...and that was good.  Now I'm not a current resident of Texas (a former resident, you bet!) so why should I ...make that we... be concerned about a governor in a state some distance away.  Although Texas Fred was not too specific about Kathie...here's his quote:

I have liked everything I have heard Kathie Glass say, everything I have read about her and last Saturday I had the opportunity to meet her in person, and I am even MORE impressed.
Well that lead me onto my own search for a little more detail and I didn't have to go too far.  A simple click onto Kathie Glass For Governor  (kathie4guv.netboots.net/issues) brought out some (or at the very least one) most interesting detail.  See if you can point it out...

KATHIE'S FIVE POINT LONE STAR PLAN

★    TEXAS 9TH AND 10TH AMENDMENT SOVEREIGNTY:  Use nullification and interposition to refuse enforcement by Texas of unconstitutional  federal  laws like EPA Cap & Trade and Obamacare, and United Nations power grabs like the Law of the Sea Treaty and the Small Arms Disarmament Treaty.

★    LOWER TAXES:  Eliminate school property tax. Eliminate franchise tax which acts as a personal income tax.  No income tax!  Reduce other property taxes and strengthen taxpayer protections such that no one loses their house due to unpaid property taxes.

★    LOWER SPENDING:  Reduce government education spending to the bare minimum required by our Texas Constitution.  Eliminate state Medicaid expenditures.

★    PROTECT OUR BORDER:  Use our Texas State Guard.  Limit all government spending on education and healthcare to citizens of Texas and the United States.  Border enforcement will reduce demands on our education, health care, and criminal justice systems.

★    SUPPORT PRIVATE PROPERTY RIGHTS:  Strengthen eminent domain protections.  Oppose boondoggles like the Trans Texas Corridor and other destructive public/private projects.

LIBERTY AND PROSPERITY GO HAND IN HAND!
I didn't have to read beyond the first point in her 5 star plan...and it is a star plan not just a Lone Star plan.   It is a plan every politician that is concerned about America's future should take note of...it's the very first time I've seen anyone (anywhere!) include in their outline for election anything about LOST!  That's the Law Of The Sea Treaty for those not in the know.

LOST?  What's the big deal?  The Law of The Sea Treaty is by far the worst treaty ever signed by a president of the United States.  Traitor Bill Clinton (dare I call him president) signed this treaty in the early 90's and if it were ratified you can kiss your country and it's flag goodbye!  We would become just one state of the 192 member states of the United Nations.  Each administration since the signing has attempted to ratify this surrender document but we have prevailed so far.  Just this year Obama has, by the use of Executive Order, attempted (or has already done, but illegally) to piecemeal LOST into this country by establishing the National Ocean Council which will affect 30 states...Texas included!

Just as an observation has anyone ever ran for office promoting the G8 or G20 Summit...or the Law Of The Sea Treaty?   No!  Not anyone!  But that's the first thing on their (presidents that is)  agenda once they're in office.  It's all part of the New World Order...c'mon now, if you haven't heard of the NWO yet you shouldn't be allowed to vote.  So if a governor of a state such as Texas stands up for the Constitutional rights (states rights) guaranteed by the 10th amendment and blocks any attempts by the Obama administration to enforce some foreign government's (the UN foreign!) dictates then I'll vote for that governor...guess I'll have to move back to Texas.  ~ Storm'n Norm'n

ps: all of the other five points are excellent

Developing Story: Shooting on University of Texas Campus

Police on scene of shooting on UT campus

A gunman who fired several shots on the University of Texas campus in the Perry-Castaneda Library is dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, and police are looking for a possible second suspect, officials say.
Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo confirmed that the shooter is dead, but UT continues to be closed and locked down, and people are urged to stay out of the area. Classes are canceled for the day, officials said in an e-mail alert.
Officials say it appears there are no other injuries. UT spokeswoman Rhonda Weldon said witnesses had reported that the man was armed with an automatic weapon.
“The shooter is dead on the sixth floor of Perry-Castaneda Library, said Don Hale, a UT spokesman. “No identification. Apparently took his own life.”
“We don’t have any report of anybody getting shot at this point,” Hale said. Officials at University Medical Center Brackenridge have said they have not received any patients.
“It’s not clear yet” if there is a second suspect, Hale said shortly after 9 a.m., adding that the university’s advice to stay indoors and keep doors locked remains in force.

Police officials raised the possibility of a second gunman because they had received different descriptions of the gunman by witnesses.
It was unclear how many shots were fired, but witnesses described eight to 10 shots in short bursts.
There were numerous reports that the gunman was wearing a black ski mask.
KVUE talked to UT student Andrew McWaters who said he saw the shooter near Dobie Mall and heard four gunshots followed by two more. He said the gunman was wearing a black ski mask, smiling and waving the gun.
The area around 21st Street and Speedway is aswarm with law enforcement, SWAT vehicles, two heliopters circling overhead, officers from Austin Police, UT and the Department of Public Safety. A battering ram was also seen.
Hale said university officials at 8:23 a.m. alerted students, faculty members and staff members by text message, outdoor loudspeakers and an online posting to stay indoors.
“That seems to be working pretty well,” Hale said of that advice.
Meanwhile, 50 to 75 students ignored the lockdown, standing outside Jester Hall taking pictures with their cell phones or calling or texting their parents.
A second e-mail alert from UT officials said: “Armed subject last seen at Perry Casteneda Library and UTC. Shelter in place. UTPD responding.”
All organized classes for today are canceled, and the campus remains closed, an alert from UT officials said.
Emergency sirens began going off about 8:30 a.m.

Alicia Dietrich, public affairs assistant with the Harry Ransom Center, which is down the street from the library, said she heard the shots as she was parking her bike.
“I didn’t even know for sure that it was gunshots,” Dietrich said at 8:47 a.m. “The sirens went off about five to 10 minutes ago. The building has been locked down and I don’t think they’re letting anybody in or out.”
Kevin Olsen, a graduate student at the University of Texas, said he was walking by the Dobie dorm about 8:15 a.m. when he heard about eight to 10 shots in short bursts. He said other people walking to class also heard shots and were looking around “kind of in awe.”
A UT facilities worker told KLBJ-AM that he heard at least 10 gunshots but saw nobody get hit.

Segway Owner In Fatal Accident

Segway Owner Dies In Bizarre Segway Accident
Jimi Heselden, the millionaire owner of the company that makes Segway motorized scooters was found dead in a river. Apparently, he died in an unusual accident while riding one of his own scooters.
The 62 years old man died after he plunged 80 feet over a cliff near his home, while riding a country version of the two-wheeled Segway. The businessman wealth is estimated to be around £166 million, and was found in the River Wharfe at 11:40am on Sunday by a neighbor.
Segway AccidentRight now, police are investigating, although circumstances show us that the lost control of the Segway while he was traveling along a road close to his house near Boston Spa, West Yorkshire. Unfortunately, the narrow pathway used by walkers is littered with tree roots.
The interesting thing is that, the motorized scooter, was found near the body, so this means that he was still riding the machine when he drove over the cliff. Mr Heselden had bought the Segway company in a deal last December and planned to further develop the machine.

Escape From The Khmer Rouge

There's no real connection to this story, just a story that brought back some memories... During 1970 and 1971 I was in Saigon (now Ho Chi-Minh City) and did meet a few Cambodians. But it was not until years later that I met San Kim, a Cambodian that escaped the Khmer-Rouge the hard way. San Kim was shot and supposedly killed by the Khmer-Rouge but was found a day later still alive among the other dead bodies by friends who nursed him back to health. I worked with San Kim...actually I was his boss...where I got to know him and his family in great detail. There is much more to his story than I can allow here but suffice it to say I consider him one of the unsung heroes that came out of that unfortunate crisis in Southeast Asia not that many years ago (you can say, "many years ago" after we are both gone.) ~ Norman E. Sa'd Arafat: "Allah honored wives by instating the punishment of beatings."

Islam Permits Wife Beating if She Refuses to Have Sex, Just Don't Make Her Ugly

Egyptian Cleric Sa'd Arafat: Islam Permits Wife Beating Only When She Refuses to Have Sex with Her Husband
Interviewer: "Would you believe that the European women in our times yearns for a husband who would be like a guardian to her. I would like to provide the viewers with some statistics. 90% of British women do not want to marry a weak man, who sits down and cries the moment there is a problem. They say: No, such a man looks more like a woman. We want a manly man. [...]
"Wife beating is a serious accusation [leveled against Islam]. Let us examine this matter bit by bit."
Sa'd Arafat: "Allah honored wives by instating the punishment of beatings."
Interviewer: "Honored them with beatings? How is this possible?!"
Sa'd Arafat: "The prophet Muhammad said: 'Don't beat her in the face, and do not make her ugly.' See how she is honored. If the husband beats his wife, he must not beat her in the face. Even when he beats her, he must not curse her. This is incredible! He beats her in order to discipline her.
"In addition, there must not be more than ten beatings, and he must not break her bones, injure her, break her teeth, or poke her in the eye. There is a beating etiquette. If he beats to discipline her, he must not raise his hand high. He must beat her from chest level. All these things honor the woman.
"She is in need of discipline. How should the husband discipline her? Through admonishment. If she is not deterred, he should refuse to share the bed with her. If she is not repentant, he should beat her, but there are rules to the beating. It is forbidden to beat her in the face or make her ugly. When you beat her, you must not curse her. Islam forbids this."
Interviewer: "With what should be beat her? With his bare hand? With a rod?"
Sa'd Arafat: "If he beats her, the beatings should not be hard, so that they do not leave a mark. He can beat her with a short rod. He must avoid beating her in the face or in places in the head where it hurts. The beatings should be on the body and should not come one right after the other. These are all choices made during the process, but beatings are allowed only as a last resort. [...]
"The honoring of the wife in Islam is also evident in the fact that the punishment of beating is permissible in one case only: when she refuses to sleep with him."
Interviewer: "When she refuses to sleep with him?"
Sa'd Arafat: "Yes, because where else could the husband go? He wants her, but she refuses. He should begin with admonishment and threats..."
Interviewer: "Allow me to repeat this. A man cannot beat his wife..."
Interviewer: "...over food or drink. Beatings are permitted only in this case, which the husband cannot do without." [...]
Following are excerpts from an interview with Egyptian cleric Sa'd Arafat, which aired on Al-Nas TV (Egypt) on February 4, 2010:
